You can see from the photos that this site had less room than normal to navigate around but here at Point1 Building Systems we like a challenge and everything went smoothly. The clients approached us with a simple building design with very little additional structure required due to the careful thinking behind the architects plans.

The client had requested that some of the first floor rooms had ceiling joists unlike the main bedrooms where we extended the 89mm internal walls up to the underside of the roof - providing additional support for the glulam purlins. This created vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms opening up the room in the roof for visually stunning internal designs.

In addition to this we integrated the clients MVHR ducting routes into our CAD drawings which enables off site preparation for the hole design - saving alot of time on site for the installers of the Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery system. The entire build was completed in just under three weeks

The roof was completed with a stunning standing seam roof - fixed above the Kingspan TEK® 172mm SIPS roof panels. Condensation needs to be considered to the rear of the Standing Seam roof covering to avoid corrosion, whilst maintaining a continuous air space over the SIPS upper panel facings. Therefore a 50mm counter batten cavity and an 18mm ply layer was fitted by the clients chosen roofing contractor - as recommended by Kingspan TEK® and required by the standing seam roof manufacturer to fix the sheet material to.
