Point1 Building Systems opened for business as a Kingspan TEK™ Delivery Partner in 2013. Initially based in Burton-on-Trent, the company relocated to Shrewsbury and in 2018 moved in to their own premises in Knights Park, on the Battlefield Enterprise Park in Shrewsbury.

To date, the company has supplied and installed 300+ projects comprising new homes – including several Passivhaus developments, commercial and educational projects across the UK.

In addition to in-house contract and project managers, Point1’s team also includes experienced construction professionals and tradesmen who work closely with the company on a sub-contract basis. With tight project control to ensure high quality workmanship, everyone who works with Point1 is focussed on achieving complete client satisfaction. 

INTRODUCING OUR DIRECTORS, GARRY DYKE AND NICK JONES

Garry has worked in the building and construction sector for more than 30 years, starting from the shop floor through to builders’ merchant manager. His early involvement with building systems included designing and selling floor joist systems, before moving on to lead a design team. In 2004, Garry began working with Kingspan and began to appreciate that TEK, an offsite manufactured building system, offered significant performance benefits. With TEK proving to be particularly successful in the UK, Kingspan opened a manufacturing facility in Yorkshire and established a delivery partner network. Garry recognised the opportunity and Point1 Building Systems was formed – the company was appointed a Kingspan Delivery Partner from day one.

A qualified joiner and carpenter, Nick has more than 20 years’ experience of on-site wood working and modern construction methods - specifically SIPs and timber frame technologies. Developing his passion, knowledge and know-how, he worked for a timber frame manufacturer before joining Kingspan to work in the design and management department. This provided Nick with the opportunity to grow his understanding of the structure and thermal capabilities of SIPs over and above timber frame options. Nick met Garry and, after four years working together, they joined forces in 2014 to develop Point1 Building Systems.
